National Pumpkin Day Octover 26th

We have had quite a successful 2 months of harvesting from our farm. Our total to date is 1500 lbs. That’s quite a lot of pumpkins that gone into our pantry to give to our neighbors.

Pumpkins are a winter crop, they like the cooler weather. Pumpkins are refered to as a vegetable, although scientifically they are a fruit.Pumpkins contain vitamins A, B2, C and E. Not only can you cook them in the oven, the meat inside can also become a pumpkin pie. Don’t throw away the seeds… you can roast them in the oven with a little salt and they become a great snack.

For Halloween Time they are great decorations around your house and of course let’s not forget, pumpkins carving for the kids!
